When working with a set of numbers, understanding how to calculate its basic statistical measures can give you insights into the data's distribution and central tendency. Mode, sometimes overlooked, speaks to the most frequent value in your data set, offering insight into the most common data point in your collection. It can be particularly useful in understanding categorical data or when one number significantly reoccurs.

Lastly, the range gives simple insight into the spread from smallest to largest value, representing the data's variability. By identifying these measures, you can begin to understand your data's characteristics—and when these measures differ significantly, it indicates potential skewness or outliers worth further investigation.
